Clairity’s musical journey began at age 15 when she first met Pebe Sebert, who quickly took her under her wing and included me in several co-writes with various songwriters, including Ke$ha. Serbert guided Clairity to Los Angeles for her first songwriting trip where she went on to co-write “DNA”, first track on what would later be her >Alienation EP. At 16, she signed with management and publishers Kara DioGuardi and Stephen Finfer through Arthouse Entertainment. Following her 17th birthday, she was invited by Jason Flom to the Republic Records office in New York to play a showcase and later inked her first record deal with Lava Records (Lorde, Jessie J) in January of 2015.
During her time at Lava Records, Clairity released her debut EP Alienation and debuted at SXSW. Her song “Broken Things” was featured on MTV’s tv show Catfish while her song “Exorcism” was featured on MTV’s Teen Wolf and The CW’s Riverdale with over 2 million spins on Spotify currently. Her cover of Coldplay’s “Don’t Panic” was featured during the Super Bowl 50 spot in the X:Men Apocalypsetrailer while her song “Renaissance” with Justin Bieber “Purpose” producer DJ Steve James reached #1 on Spotify Global Viral 50 and US Viral 50 with over 4 million Spotify spins.
Despite mainstream success while sharing stages with Halsey, DNCE, James Bay and more, creative differences encouraged Clairity to make a bold decision to split from Lava Records. “Pyrokinesis” is her most explosive statement to date as a truly independent artist.
